As a member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), we receive informational articles every month. For April, we received the following article detailing the ways lawns benefit our communities. The president of the NALP encouraged us to share it with our customers.When I read the article, it reinforced what I always believed about lawns: they are important for our environment, and have more positive impacts than negative. Yes, I know lawn maintenance is always a concern because of the time investment, but personally, maintaining my lawn brings me satisfaction. These days, there are new varieties of turfgrass created specifically for our arid climate that require little water and mowing, such as Bermuda grass and no mow turfs.
